Mayuka Yamamoto completed the master program at the Musashino Art University in 1990.
From 1998 to 1999, she studied in London as part of the Japanese government oversea study program for artists.
She held her first exhibition at the Ai Gallery and Gallery21+Yo in 1992. After that, she held her first solo exhibition in the Gallery Tsubaki in 1993. since then, she has continued to hold exhibitions at Since her solo exhibition in 1993, he has had a series of solo exhibitions at Gallery Tsubaki.
Her first works was printmaking. Gradually she began making oil on paintings. She became well known for style of painting that was combined images of children and animals.
She held solo exhibition at the Canvas International Art art gallery Netherlands, Amsterdam in 2007, 2009 and 2014. Since then she began more successful exhibitions abroad. Her style of a kind although, we can now see artists who imitate her style, she is the original. From the former super flat touch, now she draws the Baroque-like shadows and changed to a styleembraces fine handwritten detail. Since then, she has continued to update her own expression a little bit with each presentation. She has also exhibited in the U.S., Italy, and Rome, attracting attention beyond Asia. Mayuka is an interesting and important painter who should not to be overlooked.
